SERVICES
supply chain network design
Are your manufacturing facilities and distribution centers in the right locations to support your organic growth or M&A activity? Looking to expand into a new region and unsure where to site your facilities? We’re here to help.
We will create a bespoke supply chain network model (a “digital twin”) that reflects your unique supply chain considerations.
We will use optimization and scenario analysis on the model to explore “what-ifs”, evaluate options, and recommend potential paths forward.
We will build and share an interactive dashboard that allows you to review results post-engagement.
SHIP FROM STORE network design
Are you a retailer considering using your stores to ship e-commerce orders? Unsure what stores to use? Designing a Ship From Store (SFS) and Buy Online, Pickup in Store (BOPIS) network is difficult. Also, designing SFS/BOPIS brings unique considerations that don’t always apply to most supply chain design projects.
We will draw on our Fortune 100 experience to build a bespoke supply chain network model (a “digital twin”) that reflects your burgeoning e-commerce business.
We will use optimization and scenario analysis on the model to explore “what-ifs”, evaluate options, and recommend potential paths forward.
We will build and share an interactive dashboard that allows you to review results post-engagement.
supply chain risk analysis
Want to understand how variability in demand, input costs, and lead times will impact your supply chain expense and service levels?
We have just the tools. We will build a bespoke model that to understand and quantify the ways risk and uncertainty creep into your supply chain, and recommend priority areas for improvement.
We will build and share an interactive dashboard that allows you to review results post-engagement.
manufacturing optimization
Looking to get more productivity out of your plant, or wondering if you have the right product mix on the schedule? Look no further.
We will work with your team to understand key details about your manufacturing process, and create a manufacturing model (“digital twin”) to investigate bottlenecks, increase throughput, and recommend potential paths forward.
We will build and share an interactive dashboard that allows you to review results post-engagement.
inventory optimization
Are you facing both obsolete inventory and unsatisfactory customer service levels? Need to understand if SKU rationalization can improve your working capital? Reach out.
We will use “big data” analytics to understand your sales patterns, classify SKUs, and highlight the tradeoffs between safety stock levels and customer service levels.
We will build and share an interactive dashboard that allows you to review results post-engagement.
LAST-MILE NETWORK DESIGN & ROUTING OPTIMIZATION
Are you a CPG manufacturer, bakery, or bottled drink distributor running Direct Store Delivery (DSD) routes, and wondering how to do them more efficiently? You’re in luck.
We will use “big data” analytics to understand your demand patterns and operational constraints, then build service area and routing recommendations that may reduce operational costs and service level.
We will build and share an interactive dashboard that allows you to review results post-engagement.

CASE STUDIES
first-mile network optimization
We were brought in to help a client, a B2C segment leader with double-digit annual growth projections, facing major decisions in its first-mile network.
After working closely with the client team to understand its first-mile pain points and end-to-end product flow, we developed a bespoke supply chain network optimization model to enable rapid “what-if” scenario analysis, all using open-source tools.
Working with the client team, we landed on several scenarios around port optimization, port risk mitigation, and make/buy decisions for key products.
As part of the project deliverables, the client received a custom-built dashboard app (using Shiny) of the scenario results, including maps, summary graphics, and detailed results, which facilitated further internal discussions.
supply chain analytics training
Upon request, we developed and conducted custom training for a Norwegian startup that develops, designs and manufactures chargers for electric vehicles.
Over two mornings, we engaged in customized training sessions on the fundamentals of optimization and supply chain design in R. The team’s feedback says it all:
“[The training] has been very inspiring… we also have a ton of ideas on how to use this going forward… a good mix of practical examples and the theory behind it… we all have a better understanding of how supply chain modeling can help us going forward!”
manufacturing finite scheduling optimization
We helped a global manufacturer increase a plant’s capacity through optimized scheduling.
Due to unique considerations of the manufacturing process, textbook capacity modeling approaches were inapplicable, and the client team had tried everything.
Recognizing this client’s unique situation, we built a bespoke optimization model that recommended a finite production schedule for the plant, adding incremental capacity without additional capital investment.
Best of all, after training sessions with an internal data scientist, the client can now run this model regularly for short- and long-term planning.
distribution network assesesment
We worked with a leading manufacturer of vitamins and nutritional supplements.
Facing strong growth, they were asking big questions about their supply chain – where to expand manufacturing capacity, how to build out their distribution network, and how to really use their data to make better strategic decisions about their supply chain.
An initial data assessment has shown that their distribution centers are in great locations to support their growth trajectory.
Using our novel, quick-hit approach to recommend potential next metro areas for their next two distribution centers. All this within a short turnaround time, and all using data science tools built in the R programming language.
