For many of our clients, end deliverables include a Shiny app with project recommendations. We host our Shiny apps with the shinyapps.io service. To ensure apps are accessible only to authorized individuals on the client team, we utilize user authentication.
When we add someone’s email address to the authorized users for an app, individuals receive this email from shinyapps.io:
Clicking on the link will take you to the app login page. If you use Gmail or Google Workspace, you can use the “Log In with Google” option. You can also log in with GitHub credentials, if you have them.
If you do not have Gmail / Google Workspace or GitHub, Click on “Sign Up” in the top right corner to establish a password, associated with your email.
Use these credentials (Gmail / Google Workspace, GitHub, or email and password) to log into the Shiny app.
